SPONSORSHIPS
Because for us it is important,
Each year, we sponsor an orphaned elephant calf saved from ivory poaching in Africa through a donation to the SEA Save African Elephants association.
A Mission of Compassion and Protection
At The Vegan Elephant , we believe that every life is precious and deserves to be protected. It is this conviction that drives us to support orphaned baby elephants, victims of ivory poaching. For us, their sponsorship is much more than a simple symbolic gesture: it is a commitment to life, compassion, and the preservation of nature.
Elephants: Majestic Creatures in Peril
Elephants are exceptionally intelligent animals, capable of deep social relationships and complex emotions. Yet these magnificent creatures are among the most brutalized for their ivory tusks, leaving behind traumatized orphans, often too young to survive on their own.
A Sponsorship to Offer Hope and Comfort
By sponsoring these baby elephants, The Vegan Elephant wants to give them a second chance. By working with rescue organizations, we ensure that they receive a safe home, proper care, and the love they desperately need. Our goal is to raise awareness and mobilize our community against poaching.
Giving a Voice to the Voiceless
This sponsorship is an act of justice and responsibility. Through The Vegan Elephant , we give elephants a voice and remind them that every purchase can help make a difference. Together, we are working towards a future where these animals can live in peace, far from human exploitation.
A Promise of a Better World
For The Vegan Elephant , this commitment goes beyond mere support: it is a promise to create a world where every form of life is respected and cherished. Our sponsorship of orphaned baby elephants is a manifestation of our unwavering commitment to building a better future for all.

Latika the fighter
Latika, an orphaned elephant calf, was found at 18 months old in critical condition, with a snare wrapped around her neck, weakened by drought and without a herd. After rescue and treatment, she was transported to Nairobi where she is beginning to recover. Despite her isolation and reluctance to bond, Latika has shown great resilience, ready to overcome challenges for a better future.
Amali, symbol of hope
Orphaned elephant Amali survived the 2022 drought in Kenya, which left many calves too weak to keep up with their herds. Abandoned and dehydrated, she was rescued by Wildlife Works on Rukinga Ranch. After a complex rescue, she was transported to Umani Springs, where, despite her initial weakness, she regained strength through loving care. Today, surrounded by a loving herd, Amali is a symbol of hope and thriving in her new home.
Kiombo's beautiful adoption
On 17 March, an urgent appeal from the Narok County Governor alerted the public to an orphaned elephant calf in distress. His mother, presumably dead, had left the calf vulnerable and unable to survive on his own. Despite the presence of other elephants in the area, no herd would adopt him. Weak and dehydrated, he was rescued by the Mara Mobile Veterinary Unit with support from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Safely transported to the Nairobi nursery, the little male, named Kiombo, quickly showed amazing adaptability. Within days, he had integrated into the herd, finding comfort and security in his new home.
